Fast Track EMS offer personal training and injury rehab using the latest technology, which builds strength and fitness for amputees and those who have had a joint replacement operation:
EMS (Electro Muscle Stimulation) builds strength in weak and injured muscles without putting any strain on your joints. It also helps with balance and core strength – helping amputees and those who have had joint replacements to be more mobile, for longer periods, with less pain.
- Combined with gentle, pilates style movements we are able to target the muscles above an amputation, or around the new joint to build strength. We are also able to boost strength in the vital supporting muscles, helping to prevent knock on injuries.
- We are able to help with a range of amputations and joint replacements including (but not limited to) arm, leg and foot amputations and knee, hip and shoulder joint replacements.
- EMS also stimulates blood flow to help repair damaged muscles and has been proven to help with phantom nerve pain.
- EMS has the added benefit of maintaining & building all round strength and fitness at the same time as treating your injury.
Results are fast – sessions are only 20 minutes a week and clients often feel the benefits from week one. 20 minutes EMS is equivalent to 90 minutes in the gym.
Our aim is to get you more active and mobile, as well as reduce pain.
HOW DOES EMS WORK?
Electro Muscle Stimulation (EMS) technology has been used by physios and professional sports clubs for decades.
It works by making 90% of your major muscles contract using gentle electrical pulses, without putting any strain on your joints. This builds muscle strength in weak and injured muscles in a safe, effective and targeted way. It also engages lazy muscles and builds strength in areas that support your amputation or joint replacement, as well as stimulating blood flow to repair damaged muscles.
Fast Track EMS work with clients who have amputated legs, arms and feet as well as clients who have had knee, hip and shoulder joint replacements. The main benefits are in building strength in the muscles around the amputation or joint replacement, as well as boosting strength in the stabilising muscles to help prevent knock on injuries. We also aim to improve balance and core strength and get you more mobile and active with less pain.
EMS treatment can bring noticeable results almost immediately and also enables you to boost your all round strength and fitness levels.
The machines are set to the individual’s level of muscle strength, so EMS treatment is suitable for all ages and fitness levels. We have clients from 20 years old to 80 years old and also work with single, double and quadruple amputees.
TESTIMONIALS
Read testimonials from some of our clients who have had an amputation or joint replacement. Read more reviews on the Fast Track EMS Facebook page:
“I highly recommend these sessions. After a hip replacement 2 years ago i have built so much strength and found muscles I never knew I had!”
“I Fast Track EMS has transformed my ailing muscle groups in no time at all. As a quad amputee we struggle to train and work our body’s evenly so some muscle groups get left behind. EMS has worked those groups brilliantly and very efficiently and the benefits are showing already. I cannot recommend Fast Track EMS enough and if I’m feeling the gains after 10 sessions imagine what it could do for the able bodied?”
“I first wanted to try EMS as I’ve had several issues with herniated discs and problems that have arisen due to hypermobility syndrome… I looked into EMS and its background in rehabilitation and thought maybe this will be good. It’s incredible! I feel so much stronger.”
